How to Fill Out Track-Level Information
Adding tracks to a release
When creating a release, you can add tracks through Tab 3: Tracks using one of two methods:
• From your computer: Select this option if the track hasn’t been previously uploaded to the platform.
• From your catalog: Choose this if the track already exists on the platform and search for it within your catalog.
Filling Out Track Metadata
Once a track has been added, click on the edit option to complete all the required metadata fields:
• Title: Enter the name of the song. For single-track releases, the title must match what you entered in Tab 1: Release Info.
• Remix or Version (optional): Use this field only if the track is a remix, alternate version, or special edition. In single-track releases, this must match the version listed in Tab 1.
• Karaoke, Parody, Tribute, or Cover: Check this box if the track falls under one of these categories.
• Audio File: Upload the track’s audio file.
• Artist(s): Add all contributors to the track.
• Primary Genre: This is a required field—choose the main genre of the track.
• Secondary Genre (optional): You can select a second genre if applicable.
• ISRC Code: If you don’t already have an ISRC for the track, enable the option “I don’t have one, please assign an ISRC for this track.”
• (P) Publishing Rights: Enter the legal name of the entity that owns the publishing rights.
• Lyrics: These will only be delivered to iTunes. Other platforms use third-party services for lyrics.
• Language: Specify the main language of the lyrics.
• Available Separately: If your release has two or more tracks and you want them to be available as individual downloads on platforms that support it, enable this option.
• Notes (optional): Internal use only—this information will not be shared with DSPs.
